Abbot Methodius in Vatopedi on the Monastery feast day – the Annunciation

The Venerable Archimandrite Methodius participated in the celebration of the feast day of the Holy Monastery of Vatopedi – the Annunciation.

According to the ancient tradition, on the feast day of the fraternal monasteries of Vatopedi and Hilandar, the abbots ceremonially change places. This happens every year, when on the feast day of the Monastery of Vatopedi – the Annunciation, the abbot of Hilandar symbolically assumes the Vatopedi abbot’s honor, and likewise, the abbot of Vatopedi does so on the feast day Hilandar – the The Entrance of the Theotokos into the Temple.

The Divine Liturgy was presided over by His Beatitude, Archbishop of Australia, Makarios, of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. The choir at the chanters’ desk on the right side was led by Archimandrite Cherubim Cinoglu and Archdeacon Chrysostom from the Metropolis of Trikala, Greek Orthodox Church. On the left, the choir was led by the brotherhood of Vatopedi and the music teacher Georgios Konstantinou.
