The feast of the Most Holy Mother of God “Of the Three Hands” (Trojeručica) at Hilandar Monastery

The brotherhood of the Holy Monastery of Hilandar solemnly and prayerfully celebrated the feast of the Icon of the Most Holy Theotokos Trojeručica. His Grace Bishop Isihije of Valjevo was the guest of the monastery brotherhood. The prayerful celebration of the Heavenly Protectress and Abbess of the monastery began with an all-night vigil, followed by the Divine Hierarchical Liturgy presided over by Bishop Isihije. 

Representatives from several other monasteries on Mount Athos, monks from sketes and cells, clergy from the Serbian Orthodox Church, and pilgrims from Serbia and other countries, were present at the monastery’s feast. On the right side, Elder Damaskin from the New Skete chanted with his monks, while the brethren from the Hilandar cell of St. Nicholas “Burazeri” chanted on the left. After the Holy Liturgy, a festive meal was served in the monastery refectory. 

Children’s Gift to Hilandar 

On today’s feast, the Icon of Trojeručica is adorned with a special gift—a paper floral arrangement made by children. Children aged 5 to 14, participants in the art workshop “In the Embrace of Hilandar” within the project “Hilandar for Serbian Children”, organized by the Charitable-Educational Association of the Holy Monastery of Hilandar “Teofil 1198” from Čačak, created a paper wreath for the Hilandar icon of the Mother of God Trojeručica. Upon receiving the gift, Abbot Methodius expressed great gratitude to the children for their effort and love.
