Promotion of the Book about King Milutin in Banja Luka
On Saturday, February 3, 2024, at the amphitheater of the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Banja Luka, a book promotion entitled “Holy King Milutin – Ruler at the Crossroads of Worlds” was organized and it was dedicated to the commemoration of 700 years since King Stefan Uroš II Milutin passed away.
This monograph-type anthology was published by the Foundation of the Holy Monastery Hilandar.
The promotion attracted great attention of the public and the media. The amphitheater was crowded with history lovers, as well as students, teachers, and associates of the University of Banja Luka, but also with the citizens, who attended the lecture in large numbers.
The speakers at the promotion were Very Reverend Archimandrite Methodius, the abbot of the Holy Monastery of Hilandar, the editors of this edition Mr. Srdjan Pirivatric, Ms. Smilja Marjanovic-Dusanovic, and Ms. Danica Popovic, as well as the director of the Hilandar Foundation in Belgrade, Mr.Milivoj Randjic.
The book was presented as a scientific work of high quality and significance, contributing to the understanding and appreciation of the personality and deeds of King Milutin and his era.
Abbot Methodius emphasized that the book “Holy King Milutin – Ruler at the Crossroads of Worlds” is the result of many years of dedicated work by scholars from various fields who succeeded in shedding light on various aspects of the life and deeds of King Milutin and in demonstrating his role in Serbian and world history.
